Kufri FryoM |
· Kufri FryoM (MP/04-578) is a early maturing, main season, high yielding processing potato variety suitable for cultivation in north west and central plains or similar agro-ecologies.
· It produces white cream oblong tubers with shallow eyes and white flesh. It possesses very good keeping quality and moderate tuber dry matter (20%) and low reducing sugar (<150 mg/100). · The variety yields 30-35 t/ha and >80% processing grade tubers. · Kufri Chipsona-5 is a medium maturing (90-100 days), main season, high-yielding processing potato variety suitable for cultivation in Haryana, Uttarakhand, UP, MP, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
· Tuber is white-cream, round oval shaped with shallow -medium eyes and cream flesh, mealy texture,tuber yield is ~30-35 t/ha · Processing attributes includes i.e. tuber dry matter (21%), Chip color (2.5) and reducing sugars 67mg per 100 g fresh weight of potato. · Tubers do not show deformities like cracking or hollow heart. Kufri Chipbharat-1 |
· Kufri Chipbharat-1 (MP/12-126) is a medium maturing (100 days), high-yielding (35-38t/ha) processing clone for chips and recommended for Indian plains (Haryana, Punjab, UP, Uttarakhand, MP, Gujarat, Rajasthan) and also perform well in Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu in the main season. · It has acceptable quality traits viz., tuber dry matter 21%, reducing sugars (80 mg/100g fresh weight) and chip colour score (3). · The variety produces white cream, round tubers, shallow eyes, white cream flesh and has very good storability under ambient storage conditions. · Kufri Chipbharat-1 has field resistance to late blight (AUDPC 777). | 5. | Kufri Chipbharat-2 | · Kufri Chipbharat-2 is an early- to medium-maturing processing variety, suitable for cultivation in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, with maturity in about 90-100 days.
· It is high-yielding, producing 35-38 t/ha, with about 5% higher yield than Kufri Chipsona-5 and more than 80-85% processing-grade tubers. · It produces attractive white-cream, ovoid tubers with shallow to medium eyes, cream-coloured flesh and mealy texture, resulting in low peeling losses. · It has excellent processing quality, with 21% tuber dry matter, low reducing sugars (about 77 mg/100 g fresh weight) and acceptable chip colour (≈2.2 on a 1-10 scale), making it highly suitable for potato chip production. · It is field-resistant to late blight, has good keeping quality with medium dormancy, and can be stored under ambient conditions for up to 2-2.5 months. |

· MP/14-171 is an advanced processing clone developed for chip manufacturing, offering excellent adaptability across diverse southern environments and seasons. · The tubers are round, with a smooth surface, good skin set, and white flesh. It demonstrates field-level resistance to late blight and has a low incidence of internal defects, ensuring superior processing quality. · The clone maintains an acceptable chip colour score of less than 3, making it suitable for producing light, uniformly coloured chips. MP/19-294 (CP5153) is an early-medium maturing (100-110 days) and high-yielding clone, producing 43-45 t/ha, with about 9% and 24% higher yield than Kufri FryoM and Santana, respectively. · It has excellent French fry processing quality, with 20-21% tuber dry matter, low reducing sugars (102 mg/100 g fresh weight) and an acceptable fry colour score of 3.3.· It produces white-cream, oblong tubers with shallow eyes and white flesh, along with good storability under ambient conditions. · It produces a higher proportion of large-sized tubers (>91 mm) than Santana, making it highly suitable for QSR-grade French fries and offering better returns to processors and farmers. · It performs well in north-western and central plains, with good potential in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan. |

· In-vitro plant acclimatization to obtain hardened plant. The tissue culture plants are prepared for natural growth environment and this process is termed as hardening or acclimatization. · The process comprising the steps of processing a polyurethane foam block to obtain a processed foam block, placing a plant in the processed foam block to obtain a foam block-plant, placing the foam block-plant in a culture panel, contacting the foam block-plant placed in a culture panel with a nutrient solution to obtain a nutrient block-plant, and providing the nutrient block’& plant with the nutrient solution under appropriate amount of light to obtain hardened plant.
